This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit TetherWiki (the "Site"), why we collect it, how long we keep it, who we share it with, and the rights available to you. We aim to collect as little personal information as possible.
1. Scope
This policy applies to the Site at tetherwiki.com and its subdomains. It does not apply to third-party websites linked from the Site, even when those links are presented in our content. Each third party operates under its own policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Analytics data. Pages viewed, time on page, referring URL, approximate geographic region (country / city level), browser type and version, operating system, device type, screen size, and language preference.
- Server logs. Standard web server logs including IP address, timestamp, requested URL, response code, and user agent. Logs are used for security monitoring, abuse detection, and debugging.
- Cookies and similar technologies. See Section 4 below.
- Information you voluntarily submit. If you contact us by email, we receive whatever you choose to send (your email address, name if provided, and the contents of your message).
We do not knowingly collect special-category personal data (such as health, ethnicity, political views, religious beliefs, biometric data, or sexual orientation), and we ask that you do not submit such information through our contact addresses.
3. Why We Process Your Data
We process the data described above for the following purposes and on the following legal bases under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and equivalent regimes:
- To operate and secure the Site — server logs and minimal technical data, processed under our legitimate interest in keeping the Site available and free from abuse.
- To understand how the Site is used — analytics data, processed on the basis of your consent where required, or otherwise under our legitimate interest in measuring traffic and improving content.
- To respond to enquiries you send us — processed on the basis of your consent and our legitimate interest in answering you.
- To comply with legal obligations — for example, responding to lawful requests from competent authorities.
4. Cookies
The Site uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies:
- Strictly necessary cookies for basic Site functionality. These are always set.
- Analytics cookies set by Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregate visitor behaviour.
- Advertising cookies may be set by third-party advertising partners if and when advertising is displayed.
You can disable or delete cookies through your browser settings. Doing so may affect Site functionality and may require you to repeat any choices you have made.
5. Third-Party Services and Processors
We use the following third-party services that may receive or process data when you visit the Site:
- Google Analytics 4 — aggregate web analytics. Operated by Google LLC and Google Ireland Limited.
- Amazon Web Services — Site hosting and content delivery via Amazon CloudFront.
- Search engine indexing services — Google Search Console and similar diagnostic tools used to monitor the Site's presence in search results.
- Advertising partners — if and when advertisements are displayed, the relevant ad network may receive data necessary to deliver and measure ads.
Each provider operates under its own privacy policy. We require providers acting as data processors to handle your data on documented instructions and in line with applicable data protection law.
6. International Data Transfers
Some of the providers above are based outside the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom. Where personal data is transferred outside those regions, the transfer is covered by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and any supplementary measures the provider has adopted.
7. How Long We Keep Data
- Analytics data — retained according to Google Analytics 4's default retention period, currently 14 months.
- Server logs — typically retained for up to 90 days for security and operational purposes, then deleted or aggregated.
- Email correspondence — retained for as long as needed to handle the matter you contacted us about, plus a reasonable period for record-keeping.
8. Your Rights
Under the GDPR and similar laws, you have the following rights:
- The right to access the personal data we hold about you.
- The right to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- The right to request erasure of your data in certain circumstances.
- The right to request restriction of processing in certain circumstances.
- The right to object to processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interests.
- The right to data portability for data you have provided to us.
- The right to withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
- The right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

9. Children
The Site is not directed at children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, please contact privacy@tetherwiki.com and we will delete it promptly.
10. Security
We use industry-standard administrative and technical measures, including TLS encryption in transit, access controls, and regular software updates, to protect data against accidental loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, and alteration. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of any data transmitted to or from the Site.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or other factors. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site for a reasonable period.
